ABOUT THE SEER

Version 1.0.0 · Powered by Janus-Hermes

> What is this?

The Seer is a semantic search engine for film. Describe a mood, vibe, or narrative texture in plain language — “tense slow-burn sci-fi noir” — and it finds matching movies in your Plex library using AI embeddings.

> How it works

Janus-Hermes embeds each film's metadata and descriptions with Voyage, then compares your query (optionally expanded server-side) against the library via cosine similarity. Results are ranked by semantic match score — not keyword overlap.

> Sister to The Oracle

The Oracle does the same thing for music. The Seer is its film counterpart — same CRT aesthetic, amber phosphor instead of green, movies instead of albums.

> Tips

  • Be evocative — mood and atmosphere beat genre labels alone
  • Use [SIMILAR] on any result to explore neighbors
  • If you see a library indexing error, embeddings haven't finished loading yet
